President’s Christmas Reflection
As we rapidly head towards Christmas and some time with family and friends, it is a good time to look back and reflect on 2022. At PAC, it has been a big year of transition and repositioning as we emerged from the challenges Covid presented to all of us.
Firstly, I want to thank our members for their commitment to PAC during those challenging times. In addition to emerging from the dark clouds of Covid, PAC moved clear of other external challenges and we were all glad to see them put to rest once and for all. We now have a clear and firm base from which to take our great club forward.
2022 bought lots of other changes and a refresh. We welcomed Nicola Eustace as our new Airport and Operations Manager. We farewelled and thanked Jack Vevers for his five years as President, and we welcomed four new Committee Members, a new Secretary, President and Treasurer.
Pleasingly we were also able to honour long time PAC life member Borg Sorensen with a dinner when he was presented with the Col Pay Award for a Lifetime of Service in GA. It is the highest of the annual Wings Awards.
Over the year we signed on over 150 new members and several new high flying instructors joined our crack team led by Gerard Lappin.
We also published 52 editions of The Tyabb Flyer newsletter, read by over 1100 people each week. Many thanks to Ian Johnson for his work in bringing all of PAC events and goings on to life via the TTF.
Finally, it has been great to see the social side of PAC come to life with the return of Friday night drinks, Sunday dinners, new member’s nights, a fantastic Toy Run, new competitions, a super Christmas dinner, and let’s all remember the visit we will have from Santa on December 24th.
Wishing you all a very merry and safe Christmas.
